Time has passed very fast and it is 9 months since I started the course here. I am grateful to my bosses for sending me here and their support whilst I am here. Although i would say it is not easy for this change of environment. The food, the environment, the accomodation.. Since eating out is rather expensive, i managed to learn some cooking and did save on some money which i used to travel and try out different foods.
Early this this year, I had been to Paris, Switzerland, Venice and Rome. Then later to Taiwan, Berlin, Faro and Lisbon. I would have never though that I would travel Europe so soon. I had always though that since Europe is an expensive place, I would save it till I am rich/retired.
During my stay here, i have gained much insights into myself. Loughborough town is a great place to reflect. It has such beautiful and picturesque greeneries and houses. The town is small and everything can be reached by walking.. Over here I had kept to the regime of gym at least 2 times a week and within just these months, i have seen tremendous improvement in my body and mental strength. Hope to continue this when i go back to singapore.
Less than 2 months before i go back home to singapore. I am starting to wrap up my studies here. The studies here have been fruitful and I can say confidently that if you throw any physiological questions at me, i would know the resources to get it.
When i reach singapore, it will be a race against time to complete my thesis asap. I would still hope to teach some tuition to earn some allowance to spend and save up to maybe buy a property in the future. The graduation is in June and hope that by April the thesis would be completed.
I would like to get the phd degree asap and step out from being a research student. My dream job is to work for one of the labs that enables cutting edge technologies. To guide a small team to build up capabilities and just chase excellence. Easier said than done; please grant me the determination to excel
